Classes Offered
Rhythm and
Movement for Babes, Tots and Partners
This class is geared toward our youngest dancers and their accompanying parent.
The young child explores rhythm and movement appropriate to their physical and intellectual development while their more mature counterpart gets in on the action as well!
Dancers also develop their coordination skills in this fun, creative environment. A spontaneous atmosphere is
enriched by a collection of inspiring music.
Creative
Movement (4 and 5 year olds only)
The young child experiences movement and music appropriate to their physical
and intellectual development. A spontaneous atmosphere is enriched by
live musical accompaniment. Natural movement vocabulary is explored through
the use of props, sound, music and rhythms, enhancing inner creativity
and body awareness.
Creative
Jazz (6 year olds only)
Dancers are introduced to the basics of the jazz vocabulary, while experiencing
the elements of creative dance. Students enjoy the popular dynamics and
music of jazz, as well as receiving the benefits of nurturing their inner
creativity.
Ballet
Dancers develop a strong foundation in classical ballet technique.
The focus is on alignment and placement of the body while encouraging
freedom of the movement. Classes strengthen the body and promote grace,
posture, coordination and flexibility. Royal Academy of Dance ballet examination
classes are also available.
Contemporary Dance
Incorporating
strong dance technique, exciting dynamics and emotional expression, dancers
experience movement to live musical accompaniment. These classes promote
muscle tone, coordination, body awareness and inner
creativity.
Contemporary
African
This exciting class is based on the modern dance style with influences
from African dance.
Jazz
A dynamic dance
form accompanied by upbeat and popular music. Classes include warm-up,
technique, jazz vocabulary, along with energetic dance combinations.
Hip Hop
Basic elements of Hip Hop vocabulary, similar to music videos,
are introduced in this current class. All the latest moves and styles
are taught to the music of the industry.
Street Jazz & House Class
Fusing the many influences of jazz, hip hop, contemporary, vogue, Latin and African dance, this class teaches the highly energetic dance seen in pop music videos.
Improvisational in its nature, a heavy warm-up is followed by exercises that will allow you to play freely with the material you learned in class.
Tap
This dance form emphasizes rhythm, musicality
and coordination. Offered to the beginner through to the intermediate
dancer, these classes also promote grace and technique.
Urban
Beat
Students will
be coached in an age appropriate environment in the basics of breakdancing,
street dance & hip hop. This energetic class will build strength &
coordination, preparing dancers for higher levels of breakdance &
hip hop.
Theatre
Jazz
A Jazz-based class that incorporates elements of stylized theatrically through use of props, costumes and performance. This
is a high energy, fast paced class with an emphasis on combinations and
routines. This class is open to those with an abundance of energy
and some dance experience.
Belly
Dance
Taught by Shifra
Soria Tobiasch. Shifra is the creator of the Balata style of belly dance.
She incorporates Balata in her instruction to assist students in discovering
their own way. Shifra is also a master in zills.

Royal
Academy of Dance Ballet Program
Under the coordination of Jolene Bailie, the School is pleased to offer
Royal Academy of Dance ballet syllabus examination classes. These classes
provide an excellent foundation for progressing toward an advanced level
in a variety of dance forms and provide the level of training appropriate
for application to enter the Junior Professional Program.
The
Pre-Junior Program Classes
The following classes are designated as Pre-Junior Program Classes. These
classes help to prepare dancers for admission to the Junior Professional
Program:
- Royal Academy of Dance Ballet Program
- Designated Ballet and Modern classes.
