Contemporary

Our core technique is contemporary dance, with a focus on Limon-based principles. This approach equips dancers with a versatile movement vocabulary, while cultivating both strong technical skills and a deep artistic expression.

Ballet/Variations

Ballet serves as a complementary technique to contemporary dance, emphasizing strength, coordination, and precise technique. These foundational elements enhance a dancer’s overall skill set and contribute to their versatility and technical proficiency in all styles.

NAfro Technique

NAfro technique is a contemporary dance style founded by Casimiro Nhussi, Artistic Director of NAfro Dance Productions, incorporating distinct African influences, particularly from Mozambique. Classes are led by current or former members of the NAfro Dance Company, ensuring an authentic and specialized approach to the technique.

Jazz 

Jazz technique is a high-energy dance style that emphasizes sharpness, precision, and strong rhythmic movement. Rooted in both classical and contemporary influences, it incorporates dynamic, angular movements that challenge the dancer's strength and control. Classes focus on building fluidity and strength, while highlighting the importance of sharp, clean lines and powerful execution.

Hip Hop + Troupe (Optional)

Hip Hop is a dynamic and high-energy dance style that emphasizes rhythm, precision, and expressive movement. Many contemporary choreographers incorporate Hip Hop-inspired elements into their work, making this class an essential foundation for dancers seeking versatility and adaptability in a professional dance career.

The Junior Program also includes a Hip Hop Crew for higher-level dancers. This Crew is by evaluation only.

Pointe (Optional)

Pointe is an advanced ballet technique that demands exceptional balance, strength, and precision. Training en pointe enhances a dancer’s line, control, and articulation of the feet, contributing significantly to overall technical development. (By evaluation only)

Tap (Optional)

Tap technique is a rhythm-driven dance style that emphasizes the articulation of the feet and the production of distinct, percussive sounds. It requires precise footwork, strong musicality, and sharp timing. Through its intricate combinations of taps, dancers develop coordination, agility, and a deep sense of rhythm, all while fostering creativity in the expression of sound and movement.
